At the heart of the St Vincent de Paul Society is a profound sense of respect for the people we serve and a desire to learn from them.
Our society belongs to a much wider Vincentian family with our international arm and the St Vincent de Paul Society being present in over 140 countries. In Australian our National Council aspires to work towards an Australia transformed by compassion and built on justice and meet regularly to provide a forum for State and Territory Society councils to report on their activities. At a state level, Councils meet on a regular basis and provide the link between grass roots groups with the Society known as “Conferences”. A conference can be established within any local community and is made up of members who together visit people in their homes or wherever else they may be found needing aid or comfort.
Here in Western Australia, we are independently incorporated and so are able to work with the specific needs of our local community.Thousands of people who every day share their time, care for humanity and energy to make a difference in the lives of disadvantaged people all around Australia and the world.
