Do you want to help people in need?
As a Member or Associate Member of the Young Vincentian Committee, you can volunteer to deliver emergency assistance and support to people in need. You can do this by helping us manage requests for assistance on the phone or by email, all from the comfort of your own home.
Apply to be a Call Taker!
Our call centre is the first point of contact for people who are seeking Emergency Assistance and are operated by our team of compassionate and skilled volunteers. We can provide training in call-taking and database skills if you can spare only a few hours a week. The call centre operates Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm.
A small number of roles are available in administration and include database entry, mailing, call-making, filing and general office duties. If you can spare some time each week you can become an integral part of the Vinnies team so please contact us to express your interest in the roles we have available.
Members are passionate about helping people in need in their local area. They provide practical assistance to address the immediate needs of people in their community such as emergency assistance and personalised support and meet regularly to share their experiences and monitor and discuss local needs. Members walk alongside and empower people who are experiencing disadvantage. If you would like to change lives in your community please contact us. Find our more here.
If you are a corporate group, a community group or even a group of friends, we welcome you all to put your skills to great use for only a few hours of your time.
Vinnies can provide a range of volunteer activities for your organisation, employees or group which not only helps Vinnies and the services we deliver, but can develop your group’s skills, build team spirit and goodwill in your community.
Crisis support volunteers are everyday people who are willing to give their time to support Vinnies and people we serve at a time of crisis. Depending on the need volunteers may be required to make phone-calls, sort donations, assemble bedframes, deliver food hampers and any other tasks that require a co-ordinated response managed from our Canning Vale site and other possible metropolitan or regional locations.
