ABC Radio Perth has been running a series of stories about Vinnies WA services and it’s people, as part of the ABC Radio Vinnies Christmas Appeal.

One such service is Vinnies Tom Fisher House, which provides a safe environment and intensive support to clients experiencing long term homelessness.  It provides support with challenges which may prevent them from accessing other services and gives up to seven night accommodation for people who have struggled to attain or maintain permanent housing.  What is unique about this service is the Low Threshold and Change approach, which removes as many barriers as possible so staff can support some of our most vulnerable people in the community.

Lizzie Garrett is the Coordinator at Vinnies Tom Fisher House and she speaks with ABC Reporter Dan Const about how important this Vinnies service is for clients to access much needed services and find a pathway out of homelessness.
